CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A father faces charges after police say he left his 10-month-old child in a car alone while at the JACK casino, according to investigators.
Cleveland Police Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz says officers found the child in a parking garage at 2151 Ontario Street. According to officers, the girl’s father left her alone for over an hour and a half while he was inside the casino.
Diaz says EMS took the little girl, who did not appear to be injured, to a local hospital for a precautionary check-up after officers discovered her alone, and was later released to her family.
Diaz says officers arrested the 27-year-old man on suspected child endangerment and permitting child abuse, but have not formally charged him.
CPD confirms the case remains under investigation.
A spokesperson for JACK Entertainment confirmed they do not currently have a comment on the incident.
