Casino Could Be Built Without Zoning Change: Fairfax County Executive
Questions raised about whether state and local laws would allow a casino to be built in Fairfax County, where it would fit best, what gaming is allowed and what government bodies must OK a plan were answered fully, or in part. The county executive noted that the proposed casino could be built without a zoning change.

In northern Virginia and throughout the country, many Starbucks baristas walked off the job on Thursday. Workers were protesting what they saw as unfair working conditions.
Hotel In Old Town Alexandria Starts Neighbor Borrowing Program
Hotel Indigo Old Town Alexandria is offering a new Borrowed by Hotel Indigo program providing kits with everyday essentials at no cost to neighbors. The program starting in mid-November will be available to residents living in the same ZIP code as Hotel Indigo, or the 22314 ZIP code.

Santa PJ Party To Kick Off Holiday Season At Springfield Town Center

Springfield Town Center is hosting a PJ party for the whole family on Saturday, Nov. 11, with Santa Claus scheduled to arrive atop a fire engine to kick off the holiday season. Smokecraft Modern BBQ in Arlington is kicking off Acoustic Late Nights on Friday, a weekly event that will bring in some of the best local acoustic artists each weekend. Musicians will start their sets at 9 p.m. and play until 1 a.m.

New Veteran-Owned Chick-Fil-A Now Open In Stafford County
A new Chick-fil-A opened its doors in Stafford County on Thursday. The facility is located at 30 Wyche Road and is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A’s corporate leaders selected Terrell Daniel as the owner and operator of the new restaurant. Daniel is a U.S. Army veteran who has also worked as a middle school teacher.
