TULSA, Okla. — The Homeward Bound Tattoo Expo has returned to the Osage Casino in Tulsa.
Event organizer Danielle Hicks said event brings tattoo artists from all over, including some from Ireland and England this year, to Tulsa.
“At the Homeward Bound Tattoo Expo we have over 160 tattoo artists from not only around the country, but around the world, that we bring here to Tulsa to basically just tattoo people who live in Tulsa. So instead of them having to travel to those places, we bring those places here,” Hicks said.
Hicks said the events gives tattoo lovers a chance to experience a variety of different artists and styles. As for the artists, Hicks said it gives them a chance to show off their craft with new clients.
Aside from tattoos, the event also has a variety of vendors for things like clothes, paintings and jewelry.
The event started on March 8. The final day of the event is Sunday, March 10 and will run from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hicks said they’re expecting around 3,000 people to come to the event for the entire weekend. She also said she never expected the event to get this big.
“I have a shop myself in Tulsa, so my thought was only ‘Bring something really cool to my town that I love so much,’ I never expected it to grow the way it has, but I really think we can just keep making it grow more and bring something cool twice a year here,” Hicks said.
