Valley View Casino & Hotel in Valley Center announced that has reopened its buffet, but with a different format.
The casino wrote in a Facebook post Monday, June 29, that its new all-you-can-eat buffet dinner is available from 4-8:30 p.m. daily at $37.99 with offerings that include crab legs, prime rib and Maine lobster. The casino’s website noted that food would be brought to customers’ tables.
The casino’s website says that the buffet will be open exclusively to qualified players club members because of the “overwhelming response and our reduced number of seats.” It says the casino is working to add more seats to accommodate more guests as soon as possible.
In response to a request for comment, representatives for the casino referred Southern California News Group to the casino’s website and did not offer additional details.
Valley View’s decision to reopen its buffet comes at a time when many other casinos in the region are keeping theirs closed because of the pandemic.
Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs; Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage; Fantasy Springs Resort Casino; Harrah’s Resort Southern California; Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa; Pala Casino, Spa & Resort; Pechanga Resort Casino and Spotlight 29 Casino all have their buffets closed.
Restaurant fixtures such as salad bars and buffets are not allowed in guidelines issued by Gov. Gavin Newsom for restaurant reopenings during the novel coronavirus pandemic, but many of Southern California’s casinos are located on tribal land, which gives them a measure of sovereignty.
